Thrombin (15mer) (ID# 7480)

DNA
Thrombin
Protein
84 nM (reported value)
Selection Buffer: (20 mM Tris-acetate pH 7.4, 40mM NaCl, 5mM KCl, 1mM CaCl2, 1mM MgCl2)
37°C
NA If the oligo is a known aptamer sequence: For binding studies, perform a refolding protocol to ensure proper function (i.e. binding to antigen or target). Refer to the aptamer reference source for the appropriate refolding parameters and binding conditions. Note: it is unknown whether aptamer functions properly without refolding.
Specific to human thrombin. Does not bind to ovalbumin, human fibrinogen or bovine thrombin.
Uehara et al. (2008) found that conjugation of a poly(dA) tail to the 5' end disrupts binding to thrombin.

The 29mer version has higher affinity than the 15mer version, but less inhibitory activity. Aptagen has verified this aptamer in house.
