The Apprenticeship Program
(for High School Students)

High School Students who are interested in learning advanced techniques in biotechnology and molecular biology may apply for this after-school program-- see the Internship/Co-Op Program page for more details on 'what to expect.'  Although high school students will be trained alongside college students, the curriculum is less involved and is primarily an instructional / shadowing experience.  In some circumstances, depending on the advanced-level of the student, hands-on experience may be involved.

Curriculum Hours:
Tues & Wed 3:30pm to 5:30pm
-- and --
Saturday (every other) at 9:00am to 1:30pm (with a pizza break).

The Apprenticeship Program is a volunteer experience for students who are interested in STEM career fields.  Students will receive an Acknowledgement Award (Certificate of Credit-Hours Accomplished) every semester and/or summer for cumulative hours completed in the program.

Preferential consideration for acceptance into the Apprenticeship Program will be given to AP students with at least one Letter of Recommendation.

To Apply, please send an email to tom@aptagen.com with the following information:

1) One-page biographical description of yourself

2) At least one Letter of Recommendation (from a Science Teacher)
