Aptagen, LLC is a biotechnology company with a
rapid fast-track approach to drug discovery,
drug targeting, and
pre-clinical development
(video/animation).
Our platform technology (patent pending)
is a short-cut approach to develop promising
drug candidates that are deliverable to a
variety of disease targets.
Aptagen was formed in 2004. Operations
began in 2006. The laboratory facility occupies 1,000
square feet, and contains standard equipment for
molecular biological studies. Aptagen is
located in Jacobus, PA, a suburb of York,
beautifully surrounded by Lake Redman and
conveniently situated off of route 83. The
facility is a forty minute drive from Johns
Hopkins University and Hershey Medical Center.

Thomas Caltagirone, Ph.D.

Dr. Caltagirone has
over 10 years of research and business
experience in start-ups. He is a corporate
faculty member and a biotech advisory board
member at Harrisburg University of Science &
Technology. Dr. Caltagirone's undergraduate
degree is in biochemistry with a minor in
mathematics. His doctoral degree is in
neuroscience from Drexel University College of
Medicine. His thesis work was performed at Yale
University and focused on RNA enzymology. He is
a recipient of Empire's Who's Who award, and an
inventor on a patent with another one pending.
A native of York, Pennsylvania, he is a member
of the Harrisburg
Young Professionals organization. In his spare
time, he enjoys lap swimming and a good game of
Texas Hold’em.
